Throughout our history we have always been told that the loss of our liberty would be slow. Nobody could directly assault liberty here in the United States, or we would fight back to the uttermost to defend it; and we’ve proven that numerous times.
So how would they collapse us? How would they bring down what they view as evil–America, the last great hope of humanity? How could they possibly bring us down?
Well, it seems they figured it out.
They got into our universities. They infiltrated our government. They slowly crept in, silently, but surely. And one-by-one, they have stripped us of our freedoms.
“Today, we’ve basically been reprogrammed to think that we need permission from the government to exercise our inalienable rights, when in fact the government is supposed to derive its powerfromus. The American Republic was designed so that government would serve the People to protect and uphold freedom and liberty. But increasingly, our own government is restricting people from their rights to engage in commonsense, fundamental actions such as collecting rainwater or buying raw milk from the farmer next door.
Today, we are living under a government that has slowly siphoned off our freedoms, only to occasionally grant us back a few limited ones under the pretense that they’re doing us a benevolent favor.”
That quote is from this link. Go, read it. Did you know you might not be able to collect the falling rainwater on your property?
Or that President Obama is now weeding out any dissenters from his administration. Isn’t it bad enough that we have a government of bureaucrats, let alone one of like-minded ones?
Or did you know that people are now starting to mysteriously, yet conveniently for the government, die off?
Concerning the NSA scandal, I will just quote Benjamin Franklin. He once said, “A people that gives up a little of their liberty for a little security deserves neither and will lose both.”
I’m not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist here, but hey, six months ago, most of us would have laughed at the idea that the government was spying on all of us, right? It’s time to start questioning those in power. It’s time to start actually thinking for ourselves. It’s high time we start making our government accountable to us and make sure that our freedoms, our liberties, and our God-given rights-Rights are not privilages!!!-are secure for ourselves, and our posterity.
“I am convinced that our cause is the cause of all mankind–in that fighting for our own liberty, we fight for theirs as well.” — Benjamin Franklin.
“May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while every one shall sit under his own vine and fig tree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.” – George Washington, response to the Hebrew Congregation of Newport, Rhode Island, August 17, 1790; Fitzpatrick 31:94 note
May we always be a land of Freedom for All.
